Chaverim of Rockland is warning the community to avoid the Citgo gas station at the intersection of Route 59 and Requa Lane in Monsey.

The warning was issued after numerous reports from drivers who filled up their vehicles at that particular location, only to find out that their tanks were filled with water instead of gasoline.

"We strongly advise against buying fuel from the station until further notice is given," Chaverim of Rockland states.

The same gas station reported a break-in on Thursday night before the incidents with the water in the gas tanks began to pour in.

Chaverim of Rockland says they are in communication with the gas station management and that anyone who can provide a receipt or proof of credit card purchase will be eligible for reimbursement.

For further help, call the Chaverim hotline at 845-371-6333.
