United Airlines Adding 2,000 New Jobs at Newark Airport

Not happy while waiting on hold interminably with airlines, only to be eventually greeted with automated messages? United and other airlines are hiring!

United, which announced its plans to repeat last year’s addition of 15,000 new employees by the end of the year, said that 2,000 of those new jobs would take place at Newark Airport.

Since the start of 2023, United has hired 7,000 new workers, and the airline plans to add 8,000 more new workers by the end of the year.

A shortage of both pilots and flight attendants contributed to the increase in canceled and delayed flights last year as many airlines found themselves understaffed when passengers rushed to return to travel in the aftermath of the pandemic.

United Airlines has said that the airline has already hired enough pilots to steer passengers through the peak summer schedule.

By 2026, United Airlines, which started 2023 with 93,000 workers, plans to add 50,000 more employees.
