Thruway Rest Area Near Sloatsburg Reopens

The New York State Thruway Authority announced the reopening
of the Ramapo Service Area, located on the NYS Thruway Southbound between exit
16 and exit 15A, near Sloatsburg.
The renovation of this rest area was part of a $450 million
project to develop and modernize all 27 service areas on the thruway.
“We are excited that the Service Area Project continues to
progress, with two new service areas now available to customers this week, just
in time for the upcoming busy Summer travel season,” Thruway Authority
Executive Director Frank G. Hoare said in a statement. “…This project is just
one of the many initiatives we are undertaking to enhance and modernize the
Thruway system, ensuring a better and more efficient experience for all
travelers.”
The updated service area includes a new 20,000 square foot
facility, outdoor seating and a playground, several EV chargers, and several
(non-kosher) fast food options.
