Thiells Fire Department Rescues Victims From Ice Embankment

By Idy Perl
Last night the Thiells Fire Departments, RPS, Haverstraw EMS and State Police responded to an accident that involved some tricky maneuvering to rescue several victims from an icy enbankment.
A single vehicle accident sent victims tumbling down a 100-foot embankment, and icy conditions prevented them from being able to climb back up.
When Thiells FD responded they determined that the best access was off the Palisades Parkway, and deployed 250 feet of a 2.5 inch hose as a rescue line to the victims.
The various emergency response teams collaborated and together brought both victims up to safety.
