Suspect in Spring Valley Homicide Arrested by Detectives

Spring Valley detectives, along with Haverstraw Police, made an arrest late last night following a two-week investigation into the murder of Treynahel Cineus in the wee hours of July 8.
At approximately 2:30 AM the Spring Valley Police Department responded to the parking lot of 150 West Eckerson Rd, for a report of a male who had been shot. Officers who arrived on the scene found the victim who had suffered a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save his life, he succumbed to his injuries at Good Samaritan Hospital later that morning.
Following an investigation by a number of law enforcement agencies, including the F.B.I and the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office, an arrest was made late Thursday night.
They arrested 23-year-old Haverstraw resident Anthony Mitchell for the murder of Treynahel Cineus. Mitchell was arraigned this morning at Spring Valley Justice Court in front of the Honorable Judge Mellion and remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility with no bail.
