Sheraton Mahwah Hotel Will Be Replaced With Two Warehouses

Rockland Daily Staff

The Sheraton Mahwah Hotel, the location of many Rockland resident's simchas, as well as yeshiva dinners and other kosher events for decades, officially closed its doors last week.

The closure of the twenty-two-story hotel on a 142-acre property, which even boasted its own helicopter pad, came shortly after the town's approval on Monday, November 13, for two tremendous warehouses to be built in its place.

The warehouse buildings will have 1.68 million square feet together, with the potential for an additional 13,000 square feet for mezzanine office space, according to the resolution approved by the town.

The hotel had guests all the way until its last day on Thursday, December 14, when it closed its doors for good to make way for the building's total demolition.
