Sheiner’s Shul Invites Ramapo Police for Security Training with Employees

Sheiner’s Shul, more commonly known as 18 Forshay, hosted Ramapo Police on Tuesday morning for safety and security training for all its staffers to be prepared for any emergency safety situation ch”v. 

The event featured training by the Ramapo Police Department on how to respond to any safety incidents and came to fruition in light of the recent attacks against Synagogues and places of worship, most recently in Texas when a terrorist took hostages in a Temple in Coleyville, Texas just a few weeks ago.

The Shul, named Beis Hamidrash Ohr Chaim, located at 18 Forhsay Road, hosts thousands of people a day for the daily prayers and also features a morning, daytime, and evening Kollel. With so many people passing through its doors, the need to upgrade the security around the shul was of utmost importance, one of the staffers told Rockland Daily.

The staffer said the Shul is also looking to enhance security in and around the Shul, including upgrading security cameras and placing security booths outside to better protect those located inside.

The plan is to have additional meetings with as many people as possible so that everyone can be prepared in case of an emergency.
