Seventeen Rockland County Legislators Take Oath of Office

The 2024 Organizational Meeting of the Rockland County Legislature took place last night at the Allison-Parris County Office Building in New City; the auspicious evening included the swearing-in of seventeen Rockland County Legislators and the announcement of assigned leadership positions.

Rockland County Legislators were assigned the following 2024 Rockland County Legislature Leadership positions. 

  • Jay Hood Jr., Chairman of the Legislature 
  • Aney Paul, Vice Chairwoman 
  • Philip Soskin, Second Vice Chair 
  • Alden H. Wolfe, Majority Leader 
  • Joel Friedman, Deputy Majority Leader 
  • Lon M. Hofstein, Minority Leader 
  • Douglas J. Jobson, Deputy Minority Leader 
  •  

2024 Committee Chairs 

  • Budget & Finance:  Aron Wieder
  • Planning Public Works: Itamar Yeger 
  • Multi Services: Toney Earl 
  • Environmental: Beth Davidson 
  • Economic Development: Jesse Malowitz

"I am looking forward to my fourth term serving as legislator of Rockland County as well as my reappointment for my third term as the Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee,” Rockland County Legislator Aron Wieder tells Rockland Daily. “It is rewarding in every way to be here helping to strengthen the community we all care about and working to make sure Rockland County continues to be the incredible place we all appreciate, value, and call home."

"I am grateful for the public who have placed their trust in me to represent them and work for them for the next four years," Rockland County Legislator Joel Friedman tells Rockland Daily. "I very much look forward to making the county government work for the people and getting the results we need through the considerable effort I am prepared to apply to the job."
