Seven Rockland County Communities Ranked Among Nation’s Top 100 Places to Live

The village of Piermont was ranked among the top 25 best places to live in New York by niche.com, a website that determines the best places to live in the US.

Niche researchers also included six other Rockland County communities in top 100 American neighborhoods that are that are “good for families.” 

To rank the top places to live nationwide, niche researchers conducted a poll, assessed neighborhoods’ home values, job opportunities, crime rates, public school systems, and “local amenities.” 

While Chesterbrook, Penn, a suburb of Philadelphia took niche.com’s No. 1 spot, and Piermont came in at 25, Rockland County’s Upper Nyack was ranked 64, Blauvelt ranked 69, and Bardonia came in at a respectable 72.

In addition, niche.com ranked South Nyack as the country’s 81st most desirable place to live, West Nyack 89th, and Sparkill came in 93rd.

In general, residents reported valuing safe, quiet, clean communities that offer the combination of the calm of the suburbs with the convenience of the city. Residents nationwide also prefer neighbors who hold moderate political views, are family-oriented, and own their homes, according to the dailyvoice.com.
