Senator Bill Weber recognized two outstanding longtime Rockland businesses by presenting them with the 2023 Empire Award.

The New York State Empire Award is the most prestigious award a senator can share. It is presented to local businesses that have made a significant impact in supporting and giving back to their communities by contributing to the growth, prosperity, and betterment of the community as well as the state of New York.

The senator's first stop was  Nussy's Cuisine, the popular food establishment on Main Street Monsey, where proprietor for nineteen years Nussy Margaretten accepted the award.

The Senator also awarded Tuvias Seforim Judaica and Gifts, a longtime iconic location for Rockland residents, with the Empire award, which owner, Tuvia Rotberg received at his store on Route 306.

Legislator Joel Friedman accompanied the senator to both locations. Airmont Mayor Nathan Bubel was on hand as well for the award presentation to Tuvia's for his thirty -six years of operation.

"It was an honor to present Nussy's and Tuvia's with Empire Awards, the highest award a State Senator can bestow on a local business," Senator Weber shares with Rockland Daily. "They are both phenomenal Rockland businesses that people should support, and that's because they support the community. The charitable work they do is truly inspiring and deserves recognition."
