Senator Weber Presents Empire Award To Golden Taste And Sander's Bakery

Senator Bill Weber paid a visit to the Golden Taste facility in Spring Valley and Sanders Bakery in Monsey today to present them both with an Empire Award to recognize their contributions to the local community. 

Golden Taste is well known for their delicious kosher products that are distributed to Jewish communities everywhere. When they needed to expand due to company growth, Golden Taste decided to stay in Rockland County and continue to employ hundreds of local residents. Senator Weber got a tour of the facilities and production line before presenting the owner, Rafuel Perlmutter, with the Empire Award. 

"One of the things I can do in my capacity as State Senator is to recognize great businesses that are a driving force in our local economy," Weber said to Perlmutter while presenting the award. "The amazing work you've done in the last 30 years, employing hundreds of employees in Spring Valley.... you're building a large facility right here in Chestnut Ridge and doubling your size and bringing more economic development to our district. You've also done many philanthropic endeavors by donating food to various organizations. We wanted to celebrate and recognize the amazing work this company has done." 

Senator Weber then headed to Sander's Bakery, which opened in Monsey in 2018 after first starting in Brooklyn in 1959. Sanders Bakery has quickly become a popular destination for Monsey residents looking for a delicious treat, heimishe challos, and of course, a variety of Chanukah donuts. 

"We're so happy to have you here as a successful small business," Weber said to the owner, Mr. Sander. " We also want to recognize the charity work you do by giving leftover food to people who can't afford it and to charity organizations. That's the spirit of the Empire Award, and we're so happy to recognize you here today."
