Rocklanders Participate in Exclusive New York Campaign Fundraising Event for DeSantis

Rockland residents are participating in a campaign fundraiser event for Republican presidential candidate Florida Governor Ron DeSantis this evening.

The exclusive $6,600-a-plate private fundraiser was originally scheduled to take place at the Crowne Plaza in Suffern, but word got out about the change in venue late Wednesday.  The evening in the new undisclosed location in neighboring Bergen County remained exclusive to invited guests only and included major business leaders and elected officials among the many guests.

The governor spoke about those who are trying to inculcate children with values totally contrary to how we choose to live our life.

"Why is that something that is acceptable?" he asked the crowd. "So, of course, you need choice in education. Parents need to be empowered to choose the best way, but you also need people like me to get the indoctrination out of public schools. So, we have done that. We have been on offense on that. We believe in parents' rights with respect to education, that parents have the right to direct the education of bringing up their children, and  that includes the right to know and inspect the curriculum in your kid's school."

The event was organized by Seth Gribetz, an investor from Englewood, New Jersey, who hoped to raise $500,000 during the event for DeSantis's presidential campaign.
