Rockland Responds: Cornell Cooperative Extension in Stony Point Responds to Spotted Latternfly Inquiry

Dear Cornell Cooperative Extension,

Are Departments of Agriculture implementing any type of product for exterminating the Spotted Lanternfly?

Please inform us.

Thank you,

M.S.

Dear M.S.,

At this time, it is recommended to physically trap and kill them; there are no product recommendations.

Also, we encourage the people of Rockland to survey and report sightings of them. For more info click here.

If Spotted Lanternfly happens to be on your property, there are physical traps that can be very effective. Click here to learn how.

Hope that information helps.

Please, let me know if you have any other questions.

All the best,

Kristen Ossmann
