Rockland Responds: County Executive Ed Day Responds to Repair Cafe Scheduling Query

Dear County Executive Ed Day,

I have attended Rockland Repair Cafe for a number of years with my kids. They always have a blast! It teaches them some great lessons, and they have been looking forward to this year's event and setting aside pieces they hope to see fixed.

I just looked up the event and saw that it is scheduled for Saturday, October 22. This means that Orthodox Jews cannot attend. Is there any possibility of a date change or addition so this wonderful event can benefit ALL Rockland residents?

Thanks for your consideration,

Hi there,

To benefit all the residents of Rockland, we alternate the weekend day that the event is offered.

The June 12 Repair Café was available on Sunday – so this one is Saturday.

The next will be Sunday – but we don’t have a date set yet! It will probably be late winter/early spring 2023.

There are also Repair Cafes in neighboring communities. The calendar can be found here.
