Rockland Daily Staff

This week, officials advised seniors in Rockland on relevant topics, including senior scams and tax deadlines.

One event was for the Forever Young Seniors Club in Montebello, where District Attorney Tom Walsh spoke with members on various issues. Walsh touched upon senior scams, the anonymous tip411, and more.

Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht, Town of Ramapo Police Department Officer David Small, and Town of Ramapo Assessor Scott Shedler provided Town updates, reminded attendees of the senior tax exemption filing deadline dates, and answered questions.

Another event was held for the Foster Grandparent Program Volunteers. Community Policing Officer Dave Small gave a presentation on senior scams, providing attendees with important pointers to recognize and prevent them from becoming victims of trending scams.
