Rockland County to Commemorate Veterans on a Number of Fronts

Rockland County will hold several Veterans Day commemorations honoring veterans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces and kept the home front safe.

Spring Valley will honor veterans during a ceremony outside Spring Valley Village Hall at 200 North Main Street. The East Ramapo Marching Band will perform. The commemoration will take place tomorrow morning at 10:00.

Also at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Jewish War Veterans’ PFC Fred Hecht Post 425 and Ladies Auxiliary will honor veterans during a ceremony at Gene Levy Park. The park is located on Route 45 in Pomona.

At 11:00 Friday morning, Fromm Maxwell-DeBaun American Legion Post No. 859 will join the Village of Suffern to hold the community’s annual parade and ceremony. The parade will start at Parking Lot A. It will continue to the Soldier’s Monument on Washington Avenue. A ceremony will follow.

Also, at 11:00 on Friday morning, the Leo Laders American Legion Post 130 will lead a ceremony at the Haverstraw Town Hall on 1 Rosman Road in Garnerville.

In West Nyack, the Mount Moor Cemetery Association will salute veterans. This will include those interred in the historic Black cemetery on the grounds of the Palisades Center in West Nyack. The commemoration will take place tomorrow at 11:00 a.m.
