Rockland County Lights Up In Red To Honor Fallen Firefighters

The County of Rockland is once again participating in the Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters from April 27th through May 4th. The annual event honors the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
As part of this nationwide tribute, the Allison-Parris County Office Building in New City and the Rockland County Fire Training Center in Pomona will be illuminated in red.
“Our firefighters put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities,” County Executive Ed Day said . “As a former first responder, lighting up our buildings red is a small but powerful way to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice and to show our unwavering support for their families.”
Rockland County Director of Fire and Emergency Services Chris Kear added, “the Light the Night tribute is a solemn reminder of the risk’s firefighters take and the heroes we have lost. We stand with the families of the fallen and reaffirm our commitment to supporting all first responders.”
