Today's general election included several closely watched elected positions.
Incumbent District Attorney Tom Walsh won a new term in an uncontested race.
Legislator Joel Friedman won against challenger Elye Kramer. Legislator Phil Soskin also succeeded against Avrohom Yankelewitz. Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht ran unopposed for another term as did Legislator Itamar Yeger and Village of Spring Valley Trustee Yisroel Eisenbach who both won another term. Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann won a new term in a close race.
"I would like to congratulate District Attorney Walsh for his win tonight," Legislator Aron Wieder shares exclusively with Rockland Daily after winning his own re-election campaign. "Justice has prevailed, and this win reflects the DA's sterling reputation for fair and evenhanded treatment of all. I would also like to congratulate my co-legislators, Joel Friedman and Phil Soskin, for their re-elections. I know they will continue to represent and work diligently for the betterment of the entire community."
"Today's victory is a resounding affirmation of our shared values," Village of Chestnut Ridge Trustee Shmuli Fromovitz tells Rockland Daily. "Tom Walsh, a steadfast supporter of justice, will continue to ensure equal rights and fairness for all. Joel Friedman, our dedicated advocate, will be a champion for the needs of our district in the County Legislature.
"It is time to heal our rifts, bridge our divides, and come together for a brighter future for our constituents."
