Rockland Community College Awarded $933K Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Training Grant

Rockland Community College was awarded a $933,000 Pay for Performance grant from the Office of Strategic Workforce Development to develop and implement a new industrial machinery mechanics program.

RCC was one of only fifteen awardees that will now be able to train 2,000 New York State workers for over 100 business partners.

The State grant addresses talent shortages for Hudson Valley employers in the advanced manufacturing sector. The grant will allow RCC to offer courses and programs with flexible schedules to those already employed who can also take advantage of the opportunity to gain industry-specific certificates or transfer into another degree-seeking program.

The new pathway should be open for enrollment by spring.
