Ribbon Cutting for Chaverim's New Emergency Response Vehicles

Ribbon Cutting for Chaverim's New Emergency Response Vehicles

By Chana Weinman

Chaverim of Rockland held a ribbon-cutting ceremony this afternoon unveiling three new emergency response vehicles that are being added to the Chaverim of Rockland fleet.

One vehicle is a new one-of-a-kind Hummer. Although the Hummer was not supposed to be used until after its official unveiling, Chaverim recognized the great need and used it for increased patrols last week, as reported in a Rockland Daily status post on October 13, as community safety has become an imperative.

The second and third vehicles are an addition to the Shabbos safety patrol fleet.

The ribbon cutting took place in the parking lot of RHP Ace Hardware on Robert Pitt Drive in Monsey.

"I don't think it's important to repeat the same storyline of the relevance of Chaverim to the Jewish community and beyond.." Yossi Gestetner, who emceed the event, shared with attendees. "The fact that people of elected office and law enforcement of all levels usually participate in our events is a testament to the important role that this organization has in the safety and well-being of everyone in these neighborhoods."

"I was glad to be on hand for the ribbon-cutting as three new vehicles were presented to Chaverim," Senator Bill Weber tells Rockland Daily. "Chaverim is an excellent community organization that helps everyone in need. Their work in collaboration with Rockland County law enforcement is commendable. I am confident that these new vehicles will be put to good use!"

"I was honored to help cut the ribbon for the three beautiful new Chaverim vehicles," Town Supervisor Michael Specht tells Rockland Daily. "Chaverim's dedicated volunteers work hard day and night to keep our residents safe, and these new fully equipped trucks will allow them to serve the community even more effectively. On behalf of the Town of Ramapo, I want to thank Chaverim and its members for everything they do for our residents, and a special thank you to the very generous donors who sponsored these new vehicles."

"While a ribbon cutting event is something that is always special," Legislator Aron Wieder shares with Rockland Daily. "Today's event is triply so. I can't think of a more worthy organization to have received not just one, not just two, but three vehicles; nor can I think of a more opportune time for them to have arrived. Chaverim is here for our community, and these new vehicles are now here for Rockland as well. I know they will be put to good use, and on behalf of the community, I want to thank Chaverim for all they do and all they continue to do for all of us here in Rockland."

Elected officials, askanim, Chaverim members, representatives from various police departments across Rockland, and community members turned out to celebrate the occasion and to show appreciation to the organization that is 175 members strong and is there for everyone - no matter what and no matter when.
