Renovations in full swing at Viznitzer Tischen Hall.

Renovations in full swing at Viznitzer Tischen Hall.

As the current Rebbe of Viznitz Monsey nears four years as the Rebbe in Monsey, the enormous hall that has been designated exclusively for tischen, and other large events in the court, is undergoing the final stages of its completion—following a number of dormant years, in which it lay in an unfinished state.

In the lifetime of the previous Rebbe, the Toras Mordechai of Viznitz, a massive extension was made to the  existing shul on Phyllis Terrace, where a state-of-the-art mikveh was built. A few years later, another level was built atop that space for a designated “tishen hall.”

The previous Rebbe had conducted tischen there while only a shell of the room stood there, and this has continued by the current Rebbe. Recently, however, the Rebbe indicated that he wished for the space to finally be completed.

Askonim of the chassidus galvanized, and generous donors came forward, immediately getting this project off the ground. Events are currently being held in temporary locations as the massive hall will soon, finally be completed to serve the Viznitzer chassidus.
