Renaming of Haverstraw Post Office in Honor of Former Rockland County Clerk Paul Piparo Announced

This morning, Congressman Mike Lawler held a press conference announcing the renaming of the Haverstraw post office in memory of former Rockland County Clerk Paul Piparo.

Congressman Lawler was joined by Rockland County Executive Ed Day, Rockland County Clerk Donna Silberman, Rockland County Sheriff Lou Falco, and other countywide and local elected officials and members of Paul Piparo‘s family. The press conference was held at the Haverstraw post office on Main Street in Haverstraw.

Elected Councilman in the Town of Haverstraw in November 1997, he served two 4-year terms before being elected as County Clerk. Paul also served as Town Police Commissioner and on a variety of town commissions and committees, including; Parks and Recreation, Diversity, and Youth. Other town responsibilities included Labor and Police Liaison and Deputy Supervisor.

Rockland County Clerk Paul Piperato passed away on May 6, 2020. The Haverstraw resident was 61.
