Rav Yitzchok Meir Morgenstern Pays Whirlwind Visit to Monsey Community

This week saw days of elevation and holiness in Monsey as the mekubal Rav Yitzchok Meir Morgenstern, rov of Toras Chochom in the holy city of Yerushalayim paid a visit to the community.
Rav Itche Meir is known for the kedusha that has defined him since childhood. From a very young age, it was apparent to his mechanchim and his friends that he was different. Around the time of his visit, a childhood friend shared two anecdotes that were known about him in his native London.
“When Margaret Thatcher came to visit Pardes House School, all students went out to welcome her—besides for one: Itche Meir who would not look at a woman, however famous and influential she may be.”
The second story he related was: “A melamed once walked past the library and he saw Itche Meir sitting on the floor crying profusely. He was convinced that the boy lost a close relative, r”l. When he asked the boy what his problem is, he said simply, ‘I am struggling to understand a tosafos.’”
During his stay, Rav Itche Meir attended the wedding of the daughter of the renowned philanthropist Reb Leizer Scheiner. He also celebrated the chanukas habayis for the Beis Medrash Toras Chochom, located at 5 Zeissner Lane in Monsey, which is under his leadership.
In between, he paid a visit to the kever of the Ribnitzer Rebbe in Monsey, and visited with famed Breslover mashpiah, Rav Nissan Dovid Kivak with whom he learned for many years.
Rav Itche Meir is scheduled to inaugurate Beis Medrash Toras Chochom in Boro Park, on 12th Avenue, on Thursday morning, after which he is scheduled to return to Eretz Yisroel.
Wherever he went, he was seen sharing deep words of Torah and kabbalah, and he is expected to return home before Shabbos.
