Ramapo’s Heavy Rains Cause Flooding and Street Closures

By Sarah Morgenstern

Last night’s heavy rains caused flooding that have closed many roads, including Pascack Road and Grotke Road in Ramapo.

One driver, who might have tried to drive through the flooded intersection, became stuck and was stranded in the middle of the water.

Thankfully, emergency responders safely evacuated the driver.

As of Thursday at 11pm, other roads that closed due to flooding were:

• Saddle River Road at South Monsey Road

• Summit Park Road between Sandy Brook Road and Pomona Road

• College Rd between Smolley Drive and Viola Road

• Eastbound Route 59 at Route 306 South
