Ramapo Police Enhances Student Safety With New Drone Program

By Idy Perl
The Ramapo Police Department is using the latest technology to increase student safety in Rockland County.
Last week their drones conducted pilot missions and monitored the streets during bus pick-up hours in the morning. The drones watched bus stops and buses around Rockland County to ensure they're following road safety laws and keeping students safe.
The program is backed by Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht and the Town of Ramapo Board, who pledge to keep Rockland County's children safe from when they're picked up until they're dropped off after school.
