Ramapo Police Department Corner Would-Be Robber Fleeing Scene After Attempted Robbery

On the way to responding to an attempted robbery at around 12:30 this afternoon at an unidentified location involving the use of an unidentified weapon, Ramapo police officers spotted a vehicle on Main Street and Route 59 matching the getaway car's description. 

The officers pulled the driver over, but he fled when they approached the car, resulting in a police chase that ended with him being boxed in at Melnick Drive near Robert Pitt Drive. Officers, with guns drawn, took the would-be thief into custody there.
