Prelude to National Police Week Off and Running

M.C. Millman

National Police Week got a head start yesterday with yesterday's Tri-County Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics at NY-17.

National Police Week, which officially begins this year on Thursday, May 11, offers honor, remembrance, and peer support while allowing law enforcement, survivors, and citizens to gather and pay homage to those who gave their lives in the line of duty.

Yesterday's event brought together Rockland, Westchester, and Putnam Counties law enforcement officers.

"I was proud to sponsor and have members of my team participate and run in this fantastic event," Congressman Mike Lawler shared.  "Thank you to all the participants, sponsors, and to our law enforcement officers for your amazing for the community both on and off duty."
