Posters of Civilian Hostages Held by Hamas Terrorists Pulled Down by Nyack Official

A picture of Village of Nyack's appointed administrator, Andy Stewart, holding recently removed posters of civilian hostages held by Hamas terrorists was exposed by Stop Antisemitism on their social media page.

"I am extremely troubled by the reported recent egregious actions of Andy Stewart, the Village Administrator of Nyack, and former three-term Orangetown Supervisor," Senator Bill Weber states in a press release regarding the appalling incident. "A national Jewish organization, Stop Antisemitism, has published a photo of Mr. Stewart, with a pile of signs he tore down of civilian hostages, some of whom are American, taken by Hamas on October 7th."

Stewart, age 57,  served three consecutive terms as Orangetown Supervisor from 2012-2017 before being appointed Nyack Village Administrator in 2022.

"This disturbing behavior goes against the principles of tolerance, respect, and empathy that we, as a society, should uphold," the senator continues. "Similar activity has taken place in other locations across the United States. It is especially disturbing to see it taking place here in Rockland County.

"I am calling for a thorough investigation into this documented incident and consequences for these actions."
