Rockland Daily Staff

Charges were brought against six Rockland County employees for allegedly collecting paychecks for hours they did not work.

The Rockland County Sheriff's Office arrested the employees from the county division of Environmental Resources. The arrests were made on Wednesday, December 7, after a six-week investigation initiated by Rockland County Executive Ed Day.

The workers were charged with falsifying business records, official misconduct, and petty larceny ranging from 13 counts of each to 94 counts of each.

The individuals were processed and released on appearance tickets returnable on Monday, December 19, to the Town of Haverstraw Justice Court.

"This administration has zero tolerance for this type of behavior, and as such turned it over to law enforcement immediately for appropriate action," Day was quoted by Rockland Voice.
