The Tallman Fire Department held an open house yesterday afternoon, Sunday, July 28, as reported by Rockland Daily.

The event featured access to numerous fire engines and multiple rescue vehicles used by the fire department. A visit to the fire department's garage was fascinating for both young and adult attendees.

Firefighters were on hand to answer questions and guide visitors, demonstrating the numerous functions of each fire truck and explaining how the fire garages operate. Kids had the opportunity to dress like firefighters, donning real uniforms for an authentic experience.

A highlight of the open house was a live rescue operation demonstration, where attendees watched as a firefighter performed a rescue hanging from a rope to the ladder. Additionally, the firefighters showcased their skills by demonstrating how they cut open a vehicle in an emergency.

Multiple politicians and community leaders participated in the event, further strengthening the connections for the well-being of the community.
