Paving the Way for Easier Access to Manny Weldler Park

Paving the Way for Easier Access to Manny Weldler Park

by M.C. Millman

Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht announced a new park pathway project which began today at Many Weldler Park with the new construction of an asphalt pathway from Sands Point Road leading into and through the park.

The new five-foot-wide pedestrian pathway, which branches off to join the current path and extends the park's length, will allow people to walk safely in the park.

"We are very excited to begin construction of our new pathway leading from Sands Point Road into and through our beautiful Weldler Park," Supervisor Specht shares with Rockland Daily. "This path will promote two of our biggest goals-enhancing our residents' safety and expanding enjoyment of the park.

The construction will take a few days to finish. After that, the Town will review what other pathways will be beneficial to construct within the park.

"This is just Phase One of the new walkway and path project,"  Legislator Aron Wieder shares with Rockland Daily. "This is what the residents have asked for. It's what they get from a Supervisor who is a pleasure to work with and goes all out to do what he can whenever he can to improve the safety and welfare of the community."
