O&R Introduces Program to Encourage Electric Vehicle Ownership
Rockland Daily Staff
Orange and Rockland's POWERREADY Program has launched to offset the electric infrastructure costs associated with installing light-duty chargers for electric vehicles.
Formerly known as Make-Ready, the new POWERREADY Program will connect hundreds of new public and customer-owned charging stations, making it easier to own and drive electric or plug-in hybrid cars.
The program offers incentives to those who install level 2 and/or direct current fast-charging chargers for light-duty vehicles. To be eligible for incentives, applicants have to meet specific program conditions. Incentives can cover up to 100% of the energy company and customer costs.
The program is in specific "Areas of Opportunity" in New York. Check out Orange and Rockland's page to see if your site is an eligible area.
