The New York States Department of Transportation has been awarded $350,000 from The Federal Highway Administration to fund improvements to the Palisades Interstate Parkway Scenic Byway Visitor's Center.

The Visitors Center and Bookstore is located on an island in the middle of the Palisades Parkway right before Bear Mountain.

The funding is earmarked for rehabilitating restroom facilities, improving interpretive materials, and exploring the feasibility of modification to entrance and exit ramps and turn-around lanes. The project is expected to make the center safer and more accessible, enhancing the visitor experience and creating a more enjoyable oasis in the middle of the Palisades Parkway.
