Apple Becomes First U.S. Company to Reach $3 Trillion in market value

Apple reached a market value of $3 trillion for a brief period on Monday, becoming the first U.S. company to do so, before dropping back under the mark. 

At a $3 trillion valuation, Apple tripled its worth in under four years. And analysts see plenty of room for further growth.

The tech giant was also the first U.S. company to hit $2 trillion in August 2020, during a pandemic that has increased the demand for personal electronics.   

Orthodox Jew Beaten in Unprovoked Attack in Williamsburg

An Orthodox Jew was beaten with sticks by two suspects in an unprovoked attack on Sunday night in Williamsburg, leaving the victim with minor injuries.

The incident happened on Throop Ave & Bartlett Street when two suspects exited a vehicle and started beating the victim with sticks and their hands, causing bruises and cuts. The suspects then entered their vehicle and fled the scene. No words were exchanged during the attack.

Hatzolah, Shomrim, and the NYPD responded to the scene where the victim was treated for minor injuries and later received stitches to his cuts. The NYPD is investigating the incident.

Israel Reopens its Borders for Some Vaccinated Tourists this Sunday

Israel’s Health Ministry announced that starting Sunday, January 9, fully vaccinated tourists from some countries will be allowed entry, reducing the travel restrictions that were put in place in November due to the Omicron variant. 

Foreign travelers who have not been vaccinated will still not be permitted to enter Israel, as well as visitors from countries on the “red” no-fly list, including the United States and the U.K.

An IDF Helicopter Crash Off the Coast of Haifa Kills Two

Three military personnel were on board when an IDF helicopter crashed off the coast of Haifa, reported The Yeshiva World News.

Two out of the three occupants were pronounced dead while the third sustained light to moderate injuries after being retrieved from the water by IDF Unit 669.

The cause of the crash, still unknown, appears to be the result of a training accident.
