New ‘Kimpeturin Heim’ to Open in Upstate NY

New ‘Kimpeturin Heim’ to Open in Upstate NY

By: YS Gold

The Satmar kehillah of Williamsburg recently closed on a row of properties upon which a state-of-the-art convalescent home for new mothers will be built.

Located in the Blooming Grove area of Monroe, this ten-acre lot will encompass a ‘kimpeturin heim’ as well as a number of other building serving the burgeoning kehillah.

The initiative is spearheaded by the Satmar Rebbetzin of Williamsburg who is known for her countless chessed activities, and this initiative follows the example of the previous Satmar Rebbetzin who was known to personally dote on the new mothers of the  kehillah during the time of their simcha.

As is well known, the current Kimpeturin heims serving our community are inadequate to keep up with the demand, and are always filled to capacity. It is hoped that the introduction of this new facility will serve to alleviate this pressure and accommodate many new mothers who desperately need rest and rejuvenation.

Askonim are working to finalize the plans and permits, so the building process to begin in the coming months.
