New DMV Office Opens Today

A new Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office in White Plains has officially opened today, providing much-needed convenience to residents. 

Last March, the DMV closed its offices in the White Plains Mall to make room for a new development. A temporary office was set up in Tarrytown while the new location was under construction, which closed last Friday.

The new DMV office at the shopping center at 1 Maple Avenue was set to open last fall but only opened its doors today. This new location is around 20 miles from the Monsey area.

Residents are pleasantly surprised with the new, spacious facility. 

According to News 12, people who were used to the old location in White Plains were pleasantly surprised. "This is a big upgrade from that," and "This one's a lot nicer, big window, it's a lot lighter" were some of the many comments.

News 12 also relayed that DMV officials say this new office is more modern, spacious, and easy to navigate. The first customers today gave the site and the service a big thumbs up. "Spotless, I was shocked. I actually texted my wife to say it was spotless, and you don't get that often at the DMV," said a customer.

The new DMV office will be open Mondays through Fridays, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
