New City Library will be voting on Thursday, December 14, for three trustee positions on the nine-member New City Library board as well as on a $5.85 million budget.

There will be a combined budget hearing for both the New City and West Nyack library at 7 p.m. tonight, at the West Nyack Library located at 65 Strawtown Road.

New City voting will take place at the Street School Community Center located on 31 Zukor Road between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

As the library on 229 North Main Street is presently undergoing renovations, the Express Libary on 198 South Main Street is open instead.

Work is expected to be complete by the summer.

Renovations will include a new Children’s Meeting Room – with four times the previous capacity Storytime Room; an enlarged Meeting Room with an increased capacity. There will also be a Vending Café – serving light refreshments and beverages; three additional group study rooms; an enlarged Makerspace on the main level; a new Teen Space; and more outdoor space. Additionally, a new patron elevator will be installed, and bathrooms will have increased accessibility.
