A free, outdoor fitness court in Haverstraw will be available to residents to work out in the fresh air, starting early this summer.
MVP Health Care works in partnership with the National Fitness Campaign NFC to provide free access to high-quality outdoor workouts for statewide communities, and has already broken ground near the Haverstraw Community Center, which is located at 50 W. Broad St. in Haverstraw, the Rockland Times reported.
“We’re excited to bring our campaign to make world-class fitness free to the Village of Haverstraw,” said Mitch Menaged, Founder of (NFC) “Together with the Village and MVP Health Care, the NFC is happy to be part of a wellness network growing across the nation.”
Rockland County’s new open-air wellness center provides opportunities for adults of all ages and abilities to exercise.
All participants, no matter their fitness levels, can find appropriate workouts that leverage their own body weights.
By downloading a free Fitness Court app, residents can move at their own paces, while receiving instruction and encouragement from digital “coaches.”
“The launch of the MVP Health Care Fitness Court in the Village of Haverstraw is a step towards providing access to resources that can change the trajectory of someone’s health and wellness journey,” said MVP Health Care’s president and CEO, Chris Del Vecchio. “As a leading health care services company, investing in our local communities and offering new, innovative wellness options like the Fitness Court reinforces our commitment to giving back to the people we serve and places we call home.
