More Bomb Threats to Jewish Institutions

More Bomb Threats to Jewish Institutions

RocklandStaff

In a repeat of last weekend, the Community Security Initiative (CSI),  the official Jewish community security organization tasked with increasing security and preparedness across all Jewish institutions in this region, shares that Jewish Institutions across New York State received similar bomb threats today, December 24, 2023.

Last week, Jewish institutions across the US received nearly 200 bomb and swatting incident threats as reported by Rockland Daily here.

CSI shares that it is working with law enforcement partners to actively investigate the situation.

"We are working closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement partners, including FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force, on this issue," Ethan Erlich, the regional security director of CSI, shares with Rockland Daily. "During this time of increased threats, we urge all Jewish Institutions to remain vigilant and also to review access control and emergency process."

At this time, there is no evidence that these threats are founded, and there are no known, credible threats to the Jewish community in New York at this time.

If your institution received a threat or receives one in the future, contact your local police (911) immediately and inform your CSI Regional Security Director.

As always, and particularly during this time of heightened tensions, CSI encourages the community to practice increased situational awareness and to review security protocols and procedures for every at-risk institution.

Those institutions who need help creating such procedures can contact CSI here.
