Monsey Rabbonim Strongly Encourage Community to Attend Tomorrow's Historic Washington, D.C March for Israel Rally

A diverse group of Rabbonim from the Monsey, NY area signed a letter (see attached) strongly encouraging community members to attend the upcoming Rally in Support of Israel in Washington D.C. this Tuesday, November 14, 2023.

The first signatory of the letter, Rav Shlomo Perlstein, emphasizes, “It’s beyond important. It is pikuach nefesh. The Torah states ‘lo saamod al dam reiecha’ (do not stand idly by while your brother’s blood is being spilled).”

The letter states, “We, the undersigned Rabbonim, strongly encourage anyone who can partake in this great mitzvah to attend the rally in Washington, DC, tomorrow, Tuesday, November 14th.”

The signatories explain the urgency of the situation, stating, “In the midst of this great סכנה (danger), there are unfortunately many thousands who are demonstrating and rallying against the continued support of the United States government for the Jewish State and of the Jewish People. It is vitally important there be a large public gathering to encourage the members of the Biden Administration and Congress to maintain their staunch support for Israel in the fight against evil.”

Other Rabbonim have been urging congregants to attend the rally. Rav Betzalel Rudinsky, prominent local Rav and Rosh HaYeshiva of Yeshiva Ohr Reuven, has urged the members of his own kehilla to attend the rally and members of his community have confirmed their attendance.

In a message to his community, Rav Rudinsky emphasized, “It is very pashut (obvious)…that anybody who is free in that time and will not incur a substantial financial loss and they are not learning in that time they should absolutely make every hishtadlus (effort) to be there.”

Signatories of the letter include:
