Missing Mezuzuas Retrieved by Chavivim Volunteers

After a two-hour search through a massive commercial dumpster, Chavivim volunteers were able to locate a number of mezuzas mistakenly tossed during the renovation of a Monsey store.
"The construction company renovating a Yiddishe store threw out the moldings from the doorway with the mezuzahs still attached," a Chavivim volunteer shares with Rockland Daily.
When the store manager noticed the missing moldings and asked where the mezuzas had gone, the construction workers said they had forgotten to remove the mezuzas that had already been tossed into the dumpster while still attached to the moldings."
Eight Chavivim volunteers arrived at the scene, and within two hours, all of the missing mezuzahs were recovered in perfect condition.
"We remind those who are moving out of a home," David Freidman, Chavivim coordinator advises Rockland Daily readers, "or before doing any demolition work, to double check door frames to make sure no mezuzas are left behind."
