Major Multi-Vehicle Accident Shuts Down Thruway Southbound Near Exit 14B

A serious multi-vehicle crash this evening on the NYS Thruway southbound near Exit 14B led to a full closure of all southbound lanes and drew a large emergency response.

Emergency crews from NY State Police, Ramapo Police, Spring Hill EMS, Hatzoloh, Tallman FD, and Hillburn FD responded to the scene, where at least one person was initially trapped. That patient has since been extricated and transported with serious injuries.

While the patients have been transported to hospitals, traffic remains heavily backed up. Drivers are urged to continue avoiding the area and use alternate routes.
