Lawler Leads Annual School Supply Drive

Lawler Leads Annual School Supply Drive

By M.C. Millman

Assemblyman Mike Lawler has teamed up with United Way of Rockland County to collect school supplies for the new school year.

"As we head back to school," Lawler shares with Rockland Daily, "it's important to make sure children all across the district have the resources and support they need to have a successful school year — including book bags and school supplies. I'm grateful to all of the residents across the district who have generously donated to help ensure every child has a great start to the school year. Last year we were able to give out over 100 book bags filled with school supplies — we are working to far exceed that goal this year."

The drive began this past Monday but will continue through Friday, August 26. School supplies that are still needed include backpacks, lunch boxes, no.2 pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners, highlighters, crayons, gluesticks, colored pencils, ballpoint pens, zipper pencil bags, 12" rulers, protractor, blunt-tipped scissors,  3x5 and 5x7 index cards, wide ruled looseleaf paper, spiral notebooks, subject dividers, 1" 3-ring binders, and pocket folders without fasteners.

Items can be dropped off at any of the following five locations:

Ramapo Town Hall at 237 NY-59, Suffern

Nyack Village Hall at 9 N Broadway, Nyack

Orangetown Town Hall at 26 Orangeburg Rd, Orangeburg

Assemblyman Lawler's Office at 1 Blue Hill Plaza, Pearl River

Luigi O'Grady's at 106 N Middletown Rd, Pearl River
