Rockland Daily Staff

On Sunday morning, October 2, Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps hosted a large-scale drill in a parking lot on Spook Rock.

Rockland Community College was a practice field hospital and crew preparation/staging site. Sixty EMS volunteers from many ambulance corps participated in the training in a joint effort that included the Town of Ramapo, Rockland County EMS office, and multiple fire departments. During the drill, EMS worked side by side with the Town of Ramapo Police Department Dispatch division and the Monsey Fire Department in setting up a command post, stabilizing a vehicle on its side, extricating over 30 patients, and treating and transporting them to a safe location providing a beneficial learning opportunity for all involved.
