John McGowan Announces Run for Mike Lawler's Assembly Seat

Lifelong Rockland resident John W. McGowan has announced plans to run against Democrat Eudson Francois in seeking election for the NYS Assembly, 97th district.

McGowan has accepted the nomination and endorsement of the Rockland County Republican and Conservative Parties to fill NYS Assemblyman Mike Lawler's seat this November.

Since 2020, McGowan has represented residents of District 15 in the Rockland County Legislature. McGowan is also a former NYS prosecutor and attorney. 

McGowan wrote, "I believe I have much to contribute and am ready to serve our community as an assemblyman. In the coming days, I will be posting about my priorities, and the issues I feel are most pertinent to the future of our County and our State..."

The election will be held on November 8, 2022.
