JFK Plane Woes Continue to Take-Off

by M.C. Millman

This week has not been a good one for John F. Kennedy Airport as the second mishap in under a week took place early Wednesday morning.

There were no resulting injuries, but both planes were subsequently taken out of service after JetBlue Flight 1603, scheduled to fly to Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, bumped lightly into the tail of an unoccupied Airbus 320 parked nearby. The incident occurred at around 7 a.m. The JetBlue plane struck the tail of the parked aircraft.

"Safety is JetBlue's first priority, and both aircraft involved will be taken out of service for inspection, and the incident will be investigated," JetBlue said in a statement.

The FAA is investigating the incident.
