Hundreds Attend Rockland's Challah Bake

by M.C. Millman
Rockland's annual challah bake hosted by ASHAR in New City was a night to not only bring home a beautifully shaped challah to bake but was an evening of unity and tefillah with a focus on our brethren in Eretz Yisroel.
The palpable warmth, ruach, and achdus of the incredible evening brought together women from all over Rockland for "one" night - the night's theme with a focus on one nation, one Torah, and one land.
Attendees included mothers, daughters, classmates (both elementary and from a number of high schools), neighbors, and friends, who all donned their aprons and sat side by side.
The challah bake hosted by Ashar was just one piece of many as attendees were connected with thousands of other organizations participating in the Shabbat Project's worldwide network, which has united women annually for decades as they knead their challah dough and utilize the powerful ais ratzon of taking challah with a bracha.
