House Speaker McCarthy to Open Impeachment Inquiry Into Biden

On Tuesday, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy called for the house committees to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. This after hearings in the house discovered the president was being untruthful about his connections to his son Hunter’s foreign business dealings.  

According to the New York Times, “McCarthy said he would task three committees — Oversight, Judiciary and Ways and Means — with carrying out the inquiry into the president and his family.” 

“Today I am directing our House committees to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden,” McCarthy said Tuesday. “This logical next step will give our committees the full power to gather all the facts and answers for the American public.”
