Honduras Electeds Build Bridges With Rockland's Frum Business Leaders

by M.C. Millman

Salvador Nasralla, the vice president of the Republic of Honduras, his wife, Congresswoman Iroshka Nasralla, chief of staff, and forty mayors of major cities in Honduras met yesterday with Orthodox business leaders from the Lower Hudson Valley representing a variety of industries.

"Rockland County is becoming a force to reckon with," said Meyer Tauber from Metrex Companies, who arranged yesterday's meeting at The Ridge Steakhouse.

A private meeting at 11:30 a.m. was followed by the meet and greet at 2:30 p.m. The goal of the meeting was to open relationships for Orthodox businessmen in the real estate, healthcare, service, and manufacturing arenas, as well as to create relationships for real estate development and tourism. To that end, attendees also included the travel industry, local developers, and clothing and textile business heads.

During the course of the get-together, discussions on how to work together for the best interests of all were presented.

The vice president, also a regional business leader, promised to maintain an open line of communication to expand Honduras's horizons to include doing business with the frum community. Opportunities for those who might be interested in moving their companies to other Latin American companies were also put on the table.

The meeting allowed attendees to think outside the box and discuss opportunities many had not considered before. It provided an opening that both sides can now consider pursuing further.
