Hatzoloh Keeps Its ‘Cool’ in Every Situation

Hatzoloh Keeps Its ‘Cool’ in Every Situation

by M.C. Millman

Hatzoloh of Rockland's "Shabbos Pekalach" bags' newer ‘cooler’ design have earned accolades and appreciation, as demonstrated this week by the following note, accompanied by a $1000 donation:

"Unfortunately, I had to have an experience with Hatzoloh this Shabbos, and they were incredible. They arrived in minutes and made sure that my child was okay.

Although it was extremely unnecessary, the mini-cooler bag that they gave us for the hospital was so special. It's amazing that you can think of the little things when saving lives.

Mi K’amcha Yisroel!

"This kind note came on the heels of a moderately successful online Hatzoloh-thon campaign in which we raised enough money to repay the $750,000 in loans that we borrowed last month," Rabbi Yosef C. Golding, Hatzoloh EMS of Rockland, Executive Director, shares with Rockland Daily.

"I say 'moderately' because less than 4,000 people donated to this campaign; if every frum family in Rockland County gave a minimum of a Dollar-a-Day, it would solve all of our budget shortfalls..."

The mini coolers are perfect for the summer, as it keeps the food in the Shabbos Pekalach fresh, even during heat waves.

The coolers are given to every patient Hatzoloh brings to the hospital on Shabbos or Yom Tov. Shabbos packages include a box of matzohs, grape juice, water, tuna, and various bagged snacks as well as the much-lauded Hilchos Shabbos booklet for hospitals.

"Remember," Hatzoloh's Executive Director shares, "Hatzoloh is not just a great tzedakah; it is insurance for each and every one of us."
